  1. Alphabets and Characters are the foundation of learning any language. Children are taught these in their childhood because it's the time of their lives that their brain is mostly like a sponge. It will absorb, learn and remember quickly what they see, hear, feel and touch.

  2. so they can tell if it's P running down they're legs and not X or Y

  3. There are many reasons

    1. This is when their brains are the most receptive to information

    2. So they can build on to these skills in the future for an education and to access the world. They can learn to read, write, spell

    3. Because that's the way the curriculum is

    4. Because it is harder for adults to learn new things

  4. I can't believe your really asking this question.  I mean, I've seen some stupid, and some dumb questions, but for you to really wonder this to the point of asking the question makes me wonder which you are, just stupid or really dumb?

  5. Young kids tend to be able to learn things faster and easier than adults, so why not teach them when they're young?  Plus, reading is a must-have thing and learning the alphabet is the starting point of learning to read.

  6. I fail to see why they shouldn't be.

  7. Children are generally 'taught' when they are young because they love learning; every thing that they do is a learning experience - learning the alphabet at an early age means that children are beginning to learn about graphemes and phonemes, will be starting to relate the letters to the sounds that they make, and this will be helpful for them when they become interested in reading and writing (sounding out words to read, sounding out words to write, then moving on to spelling out words to read and write using letter names) as well as aid their language development.

  8. 2 chat in the future

  9. When would you suggest? When they are 20?

Alphabet it she building block of language. Letters become words, words become sentences, etc. If you don't know how to read you will have a tough time.

  10. You learn more in your childhood, (in the first 5/6 years), than you do later in your life...

  11. We teach children the alphabet when they are very young so they can begin to read.  Emergent literacy is imperative in early childhood.  Children are exposed to environmental print all over within their lives.  Learning the alphabet also helps in proper pronunciation of letters and sounds.  This helps fully develop their language skills.  If we began to teach them in kindergarten they would have delayed everything there is to come in the upcoming grades. I cant even imagine trying to teach them later.
