Question:

Why are clothing sizes different?

One skirt I have is a size 5 and it fits perfect. Another pair of shorts are size 9 and fit perfect. Some capris are size 8 and are a little tight around the waist and baggy at the legs. I tried on a size 6 dress at the store and it was okay at the waist, but was really tight at the bust! (I'm a 32C, I think). And some of my jeans are size 16 and fit a little snug. All of this sizing is driving me crazy! Any help???

  1. Cuz every company uses their own different sizes and measures.

  2. My idea is that Clothing Companies could use different sizing techniques so that you have to try on their brands to see if they fit or not. Think about it. If you see one skirt, and you see one that you also like from a different company, but you have different sizes, you'd have to try them to see if they fit. That gives a larger chance of selling one brand over the other.

This probably isn't the reason, but it sure would work.
