I went into a conservative chat room and they asked me tough questions. They asked me if I am a conservative who I supported and if I read article five of the constution. They also asked if I believe in health care they told me in that article that it says only military personal should recieve health care. I am a conservative as I like small government I have family values I thought conservatives was good people but these people in this room seem very selfish. I think in a government the strong should help the weak when needed. Now I don't won't to see tax dollars wasted. What does a conservative want does he want the people at the bottom to suffer? After I talked to them a while they kicked me out and thought it was unfair. I guess they don't want to hear others opinions or beliefs. What should I call myself if I like some values of liberals and some of conservative? Thanks so much. I just want to be able to stand for what I believe. I don't believe our constitution should be set in stone. We as a government should get better as time moves on. What do you stand for and are you a liberal or conservative and why? Thanks a bunch.

  1. Consider yourself independent.

  2. you fit the definition of "neocon". i know libs use this as an insult for republicans but the true definition is a liberal that is not a lefty looney.

  3. u must be one of the weak, except in extreme conditions why should i pay for your stupid mistakes????

  4. Sounds like you are a Libertarian. I am a fiscal conservative republican, why? I don't like big government, I like to keep what I bust my butt for and not give to others that you say I have to! I hate taxes and government wastful spending and that includes all the social welfare give away programs.

  5. I think far too many people get too caught up in what is a conservative and what is a liberal because that makes thinking optional.  It is OK to support the war in Iraq and think we should provide health care to all Americans.

It seems far more prevalent among "conservatives" to need to pigeonhole people into one of two categories.  It makes an us against them mentality that is not all together healthy for America.

I myself am a lifelong republican, yet I do not support what "conservatives" stand for today.  I do not think we need to invade other countries, I do not think we should go trillions of dollars into debt, I do not think that the economics in this country should be so favorable to the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans.  I know that I am generally called "liberal" on the internet, but that seems to be a common name to be called if you disagree with anything the Republican Party says or does.  It is a short term gain for the GOP.  It rallies their supporters, but does not seem to be drawing new blood into the party.

Keep thinking for yourself, determine where you yourself stand on issues and be prepared to be called either Liberal or Conservative.  There are worse things in life.

  6. Conservatives agree with the people who wrote the Constitution that there is nothing in the Constitution that supports federal government welfare.

It was their belief that such spending was the responsibility of the states, if they chose to do it, or of individuals who could choose to donate to charity, or to charitable groups.

As a demonstration of that belief, studies have shown, unequivocally, that conservatives do donate more time and money to charity than do liberals, who think charity is taking someone else's money and giving it away.

  7. Some people are just stupid--whether they're liberals OR conservatives. That's just how life is...one side isn't all good and one side isn't all bad. You can't judge a group of people based on an experience you had.

    I'm a die-hard conservative, but I'm not brutal...I'm just honest :)

I'm a conservative because I believe that we have the right to own a gun, that we still need to stay in Iraq, that women shouldn't have a right to kill their babies, that immigrants shouldn't have a right to come here illegaly, that criminals should be executed, and that g**s shouldn't be allowed to be married--and that's where I stand.

  8. the core of conservatism is putting yourself ahead of others. So such people would be crueler and willing to do whatever they need to in order to get their way.

just gave you a good link about the nature of conservatism.

  9. sometimes there isn't a word to describes what a person is, just be whatever you like you dont have to define it.
