I submitted an application at 7 eleven yesterday. Today in the morning I got a call to attend my first interview. I did well, and on Monday, she wants to to go meet the supervisor for a second meeting. Then they want me to go for a drug test. Then they want me to attend a 2 day 4 hr each day orientation. And finally, the training begins. lol. One year ago I was hired at k-mart, and I only had 1 interview and the orientation which only lasted 1 hr and 30mins. So why are convenient stores sooo, demanding?

  1. Because they usually hire people who are either not native English speakers or who aren't the brightest bulbs in the chandelier. They expect the employees to learn slowly, even though there's not a whole lot to being a clerk at a 7 Eleven.

  2. Training for armed robbery

  3. Doesn't sound demanding to me.  If they want you to train for a year, why would you care?  Why are you complaining already?  You haven't even started work.  Lighten up and go with the company program or get another job.

Wait until you get a more responsible job that requires a year of training.  You need to get a reasonable perspective on what working is about.  Times are tough, so be happy you got the position and have a positive attitude.  You do want to pass probation, right?
