I'm sure you mean this in a nice way, and you just didnt know quite how to refer to this, but for future reference. Id go with Interacial people. Cross breeding refers to animals not people.

It is mostly a subjective preference but in interracial offspring, traits from both races are mixed. This does help in "softening" or blending of traits between the races.

Certain traits are more prominent in certain races so mixing helps 'blend'.

i.e. Africans tend to have larger jaws; Asians have narrower eyes and squarer faces; cleft chins and green eyes tend to be more common in Caucasians.
