They seem to be incredibly smart and when I fire at them and miss they won't come back for many hours... I have a scope but have not sited it yet,so I am just using the iron site on my Remington Airmaster 77 that shoots at 750 feet per second... I am using Predator Polymag pellets because I have heard they are the best pellets made... Thanks for your answer... Olivia

  1. There are air guns that you can take deer with in .40 caliber.

In missouri a .40 cal air gun is legal to hunt whitetail.

Lewis & Clark took game with an airgun in what 1803?

If you get the right one you can hunt with it. Don't listen to people who say you cant.

  2. well one u shouldn't even be shooting at a crow like my dad always told me if u kill it u eat it and 2 air rifles suck that is y if u want to go actuall small game hunting were u can shoot certain types of birds or squirrles i would recommend a 22 rifle or a low gauge shotgun like a 410

  3. Air rifles are only decent for small game. Even pidgeons will survive if hit by an air rifle. But they fall when hit and usually snap their own neck anyway. A .22 air rifle may do it.

  4. Like the others have said crows are WAY smarter and more wary than people think, when i go crow hunting I use full camo from head to toe, and call them in with a crow call, using decoys helps a lot.  And theyre pretty tough birds too, I usually use heavy 2 3/4" or 3" mags out of a 12 ga, and when I do get to shoot at one with a rifle I use a .223, nice explosive ball of feathers, lol, good luck, crow hunting is a blast, no pun intended, it surprises me that more people don't do it, I think its just as much fun as duck hunting and you don't have to freeze your a** off in a duck blind.

  5. Crows are very wary birds. Take my word for it in open country they're a challenge even for people using scoped centerfire rifles. Problem is most air rifles don't have the punch  to kill a crow outright, all you're going to do is wound them.

A typical .22 round weighs 40 grains and travels on avarage at 1200 feet per second. A .22 caliber stinger round moves along at 1500 feet per second. A typical air rifle simply doesn't have the knock down power...However there are a few high end air rifles that top 1000 feet per second, I'd look into one of those if using a .22 isn't an option.

  6. air rifles are not designed for hunting, they atre made for shooting targets

  7. use a 12 gauge shoot gun it like turkey the fether act like a sheid that repell the shot

  8. Crows are probably one of the smartest birds out there.  They know better than to come back to where someone has been shooting at them.  I would say you best bet to shoot them would be to get your scope sighted in.  Then if that wont work bump up to a .22 rifle
