Why are cubans good at boxing?

Watching the Olympics I realized that the Cubans are really good at boxing. I think they won like eight medals this year.

Why are they good at that specific sport.

I understand that countries like Kenya have excellent long distance runners because they train in higher altitude but I cant find a reason why Cubans are good at boxing.

Also why are the middle eastern- russian types good at wrestling and weightlifting.

Because in certain country's , the sports that they are good at are tradition.

So their parents make them start the sport at a younger age and have a longer time to perfect the skills that they need to make it to the olympics.

Same for the Russian's and wrestling. Tradition.

Cuba has a tradition in the world games for producing good boxers. Kenya has its runners, Jamaica  has its sprinters the Russians have their weight lifters and the US has the swimmers. Most of the countries subsidize their athletes , China has developed many right from the step above the cradle to become world competitors.
