Why are curvy women sometimes labeled 'big boned'?

Okay. Curves are very s**y. Why is this considered big boned? Women with natural muscles, and a strong bony, but not curvy, are also called big boned. I was wondering what a stronger built woman might be called? I am very strong, and have a little bit of curves, but Im not petite, large, boyish, or extremely athletic. What body type is that called? Thanks guys!

I don't think that I have ever heard that expression that curvy women are "big boned."  I think big boned means when you are larger for your frame or shape.  I think curves on a woman is what makes her body beautiful.  Curvy b*****s, hips, buttocks and thighs.  A woman was meant and made to be this way.  A female with no curves in her body is considered a little girl to me.  Hope I helped.  :)
