Question:

Why are decisive parenting decisions so hard?

My babysitter has decided to go out of business and she's expecting me to not hire or start a new sitter until she finds a job. Well, school starts in a month for my older child and I've decided that it would be better to make the change sooner rather than later so my son (he's 2) can make the transition with his sister by his side.

I'm feeling horrible about this. Does anyone have any wisdom or insight that might be helpful?

  1. Just tell your sitter the truth, if she cares about your child she will understand. But be sure not tell her until you have found her replacement because ou don't want her to quit on the spot. Tell her that you appriciate her service and don't want her to be leaving you, but that this is what is best for you child under the circumstances

  2. it's to bad she couldn't help by refering you to another sitter, bottom line here is your kids and thier caretaking is most important. It was rude of her to ask that you leave things as they are till she finds a job. you have no reason to feel horrible as you are not the person making the changes, it's her

  3. Just tell her you can't wait for her to find another job. That you need consistent, good care for your children and want your 2 year old to have his sister there for a while with him.
