I hate the way digital cameras are so small nowadays. I'm a bid of a klutz, and I can't seem to hold onto one without it slipping out of my hands. Why don't they make them the same size as a regular camera?

  1. They are making them in a way that people can carry them around its much more easier, before it was bigger because of the film that you had to put it in and  battery.

  2. There were a lot of demand for compact digital camera - Kodak M853 has the width and length of a business card. Film camera had those small cameras, too - 120 mm.  Digital cameras that are compact has also a shape of an SLR for better handling like the Olympus SP-350.  They also make it a little bit bigger, and some even has the shape of an SLR to what you call SLR-Like digital camera. And then there are the Digital SLR.

Here's a site that has examples of digital cameras bigger than compacts:

  3. Well, get a dSLR--not the bottom of the line model--mid level, or the pro level, each one is like 2, to 4 pounds.

  4. They do make then the size of "regular" cameras too.

The ones you don't like are favorites for those who like to carry then around in pockets and purses.

All DSLR's and SLR-like cameras are the same size or just slightly smaller that 35 mm SLR's
