A.  The river dolphins are the only dolphins that are endangered or vulnerable right now.

Entanglement in fishing nets can cause significant damage to local population numbers. Some individuals are still taken each year and their oil and meat used as a liniment, as an aphrodisiac and as bait for catfish. Irrigation has lowered water levels throughout both subspecies' ranges. Poisoning of the water supply from industrial and agricultural chemicals may have also contributed to population decline. Perhaps the most significant issue is the building of more than 50 dams along many rivers, causing the segregation of populations and a narrowed gene pool in which dolphins can breed. There are currently three sub-populations of Indus Dolphins considered capable of long-term survival if protected.

Dolphins & other species are endangered because of us. We have produced so much pollution, we are dumping OIL in the ocean, and there are careless fishermen killing them everyday. They are being caught illegally, and yet we have yet stopped doing any of the above. They, along with others, will be extinct before to long if we don't get with it & watch out what we're doing. Try to prevent what you can. A little goes a long ways.

they get trapped in drift nets, fisherman throw fish over the boat and dolphins go to it and they catch, oil spills, garbage any thing that gets thrown in the ocean
