Why are dragonflies swarming me outside my car everywhere i go?

Question

i can just be going to the grocery store, or to my moms house, as soon as i put my car in park, here they come flying swiftly all around my car. one time i couldn't't get out cause i was scared that they would get me, cause they were flying so fast and it was one at first then it was 6 or 7that's weird. what are they trying to tell me. am i missing something.they always fly on the hood of my car bouncing back and forth. help me please.

They know that sometime in the near future you will study entomology and you will be catching them – drying them out – sticking pins in them and putting them in a glass case. WATCH OUT !!!!!!!

Maybe you are more “colorful” than they are and they are filled with rage and jealousy.  

Although the nymphs can deliver a harmless but painful bite, they only live in water.

Adult flying dragonflies do not bite or sting humans. DON’T WORRY.

good! your ? had every clue. when you drive down the road your car develops heat and a slight positive electrical charge from the air passing over the body.many insects can track these with they'rer compound eyes from a distance. you stop, they come right to the car, not you.your pretty safe. where you live you have problems with dragonfly's(lots of water), on the cal. coast we have problems with honey bees, bumblebees, and those big green beetles(little water).good luck!

its a rare condition called draconis gateraican. dragon flies are not attracted to you, it is the car they are interested in. change the car and problem solved.

Perhaps you look like the queen dragonfly and they are all coming on to you ... if you listen really close you will hear a little shrill buzz saying " hi do you fancy going out for a drink sometime , i've got some great bug juice back at home baby ."

It's dragonfly season.  Be grateful they're around.  They eat lots and lots of bugs.  Take your pick, dragonflies or other bugs.

Personally, I choose the dragonflies.  They probably are around your car, because it's warm.  They're harmless and they're just doing what they're supposed to do.....looking for bugs.  I don't know that the color of your car makes a difference.  So don't go out and purchase a different color car.

That's really cool actually! Kind of funny, but nothing to be afraid of. I don't know why they are following your car, but they are great for pet control. Maybe they think your car is a big bug? lol
