Question:

Why are drivers so impatient these days?

I just don't get it - why do I get treated so inconsiderately by other drivers? Is it me? Please can someone explain why there is so much "fury" on the roads? I could never be like that. Ok I admit I am not into tearing around like a lunatic at breakneck speed all the time - but what the h**l is wrong with keeping up with the traffic and driving with due care and attention? It's so frustrating - to those of us who use understanding and consideration. Like I say I just don't get it.

  1. Sweetheart, I am the anti-fury. If you ride with me you will find that I am very patient, very accomodating to other drivers, and I have adopted a "no harm no foul" attitude toward other drivers. I do not get mad, nor do I even react emotionally to other drivers. I only take the required action to avoid a collision. My goals when I drive are to maximize my fuel economy, minimize my heartbeats per hour, and get my car and my passengers to the destination undamaged. I am part of the solution, not part of the problem. I invite you to ride with me so I can demonstrate.

  2. It sucks riding with a road rager.

    My bus driver is nuts.

She's always honking at people like she wants them to drive into oncoming traffic. And she always acts like people HAVE to stop for her just because she's driving a bus.

I hope that one day someone gets out of their car and puts her back in one place... they don't HAVE to hit her maybe yell a little.

  3. People have such time poor lives these days that they feel under great stress. If you are moseying on down the road sedately and they have to get somewhere in a hurry they may feel irritated by your driving.

  4. Don't let them bother you when you are driving.  I never speed up for others or care what they do.  Sometimes I even drive slower than the speed limit just to enjoy the drive and the mountains around me.  I used to get mad, but I keep thinking what can anyone do about it.  Poor people...

  5. everyone is so busy busy busy we all need to RELAX.........

  6. every driver drives diff.  if u prefer to go under speed limit then just stay on the right lane. but if you cruising w/ that speed on the left lane, u will make someone mad and i'm one of 'em :) Most of the time i just move over to the right lane when there is a car quickly approach me.

  7. People get used to things. I get used to driving at whatever pace on whichever road. Therefore, when the random driver that goes slower on that specific road is in front of me, it makes ME feel uncomfortable, because I then have to change my driving methods to accomodate them. It's a vice versa thing, as well, but there's not so much they would have to do, or would for that matter, to accomodate me. Just let me pass.

  8. I agree!  People are just in so much of a hurry to get no where!  Life is to short, people!  Lay back and enjoy!

  9. They are impatient because their sat navs are constantly commentating on what how and when they should make their next move, they have become whores to technology basically to put a finer point on it

  10. If I have a bad day at work, I sometimes take it out on other drivers. I'm sure most everyone does once in a while.

    Stress.

There are alot of people on the road these days,

               "S**t happens".

I Love how people follow you 3 miles to yell at you. Last guy that did that to me Cut ME off, And I Flashed him the California state bird, And went back to my business.

    Lots of nuts out there.

  11. Because society has grown increasingly impatient...People are frustrated with the time driving takes, whats next? a zap button that will take you wherever?

  12. we are all to used to getting everything immeditely, we can't switch it off and chill. hopefully when im old enough to drive i will ride in a horse and carrage and chill! lol

  13. because there are too many cars, it is irritating not being ablt to go were you want to go because another car is in front of yours.

  14. It's a sign of the times....everyones rushing, way too many chores, places to go, not enough time to do everything. Example: when I get off today at 5 pm, I have to go to 2 fast food places, Petsmart, drop off something to my friend, and return something at Wal-Mart. All of this has to be done tonight!
