  1. No clue.  They shouldn't be.  The horse is the athlete.

  2. y can't they be in the olympics?

  3. It was an original event at the new "modern" Olympics of 1896. At that time horses were still an important element in military training (cavalry), as were many events. Equestrian no longer belongs in the Olympics.

  4. Because the horses have the right to win medals. Dog/Frog race, c**k fight etc should be included in the Olympic too.

  5. I wish people could understand and appreciate the years it takes for a horse and rider to excel as a combination. To ride at the Olympics - a rider has to be extremely talented, not to mention hard working and dedicated. Most top riders are doing horse orientated things for about 14 hours a day. And then there's the horses - they are very rarely up to Olympic competition level until they are about 10 years old, and for them to make it that far they have to be willing, eager, sensible and most of all - naturally scopey/good moving/conformation.

The equestrian events have me on the edge of my seat - nothing is more thrilling to watch when you understand the complexity and logistics of the sport.

  6. lOl its so boring !

    =/

  7. Try to get the horse to jump the gates in an organized pattern on its own without a skilled rider, it will never happen.  Get on the horse yourself and try to have the horse to even jump one gate.  NOT SO EASY AS IT LOOKS.

Why is sailing an olympic event?  BECAUSE IS TOO IS ALSO A SPORT.

  8. i dont know, but the same reason why badmitten is a sport in the summer games

  9. horse events

  10. Because some country nominated them and the committee agreed, just like why Beach Vollyball and Ping Pong are in the olympics.
