Question:

Why are fans so hostile to Aaron Rodgers? Am I the only one who things Favre is acting very brash and spoiled?

They boo him in the scrimmages. Whatever you think of Favre, Rodgers has been completely professional and just wants to play. It is Favre who should be booed. He has essentially held the orginization hostage for years, not allowing them to move forward, while he goes back and forth on his decisions. Let us not forget either that while he had a good year last year, the two prior to that were forgettable. I have heard he feels like he was pushed out, but I doubt that Green Bay was going to tell him to give up after the season last year.

  1. Rodgers was booed at the scrimmage because of how he played. Sure Rodgers wants to play but when he signed in Green Bay he knew he was going to be backup to Brett Favre. Brett Favre is not being selfish. He realized he made a mistake in retiring and wanted to play again. He is human and has every right to change his mind. With everything that has happened over the past few weeks, Favre has done everything he needed to do to play again. He was willing to be traded (to a team he approved) so the Packers could move forward with Rodgers.

An open competition for starting QB is the best solution. All fans as well as the players want the same thing, wins. Why wouldn't a team want their best players on the field?

  2. Rodgers was booed after throwing an interception. It's hard for a fanbase to move on to an unproven quarterback after a 17-year legacy. It's just classlessness. They'll grow out of it eventually. Speaking of class, I just wanted to say how impressed I am with the way Aaron Rodgers is handling things. I'll bet he's impressing a lot of teams right now with his dedication to the game and the way he handles the media, so he'll get his chance eventually.

As for Favre, I can't fault him for changing his mind. He isn't the first person in the NFL to change his mind about retirement, and he won't be the last. The reason he's been made to look like a diva is because of the poor way the Packers management handled the situation. Most players of his caliber are given a little bit more liberty to explore other teams or at least come back for another season. If Ted Thompson wasn't an idiot, none of this would've happened. Thompson DID push Favre out. He said you can't play for us, and you can't play for anyone else. Anyone with any moral fiber would've given him the release if they didn't want him in Green Bay. I don't think Favre has done anything wrong except being a bit indecisive.

  3. Rodgers has acted completely professional in dealing with this situation. He has shown a lot of composure by not spouting off to the media even though he has been jerked around for the last year.As far as the way Favre is acting I believe he has played in the NFL so long that when it came time for training camp to start he honestly missed being in the spotlight. He really should have stayed retired because he had such a great season last year chances are he will not do it again andthat would have been a great season to end his great career on.

  4. Ok figged, That justifies the fans booing a 1st round pick who has quietly waited three years to get his CHANCE of proving himself. Rodgers should not go back when his contract expires.

  5. Lets see an unproven QB vs a QB that won the SB and 3 MVPs hmm maybe it is time for Rodgers to tell Favre and the Packers to KHA

    KHA = Kiss His ***

You missed my point Mex I am stating that Rodger would be better off asking to be traded. Favre has 3 years left on his contract and do you think that he will not pull the same stunt next year?

  6. Yes, Aaron Rodgers SHOULD get his chance. However, as long as Brett Favre is around, that ain't happening.

  7. it's time for favre to go. Rodgers has proved himself in that game against dallas let us not forget when favre got injured that game rodgers stepped up and did a pretty decent job even though we still lost. all brett favre wants is another year of glory.he'll do that at any cost including rodgers' contract that was worth 26 mill which is now dead. Well for me i'm a favre fan not a packer fan. but as a favre fan im pretty frustrated becuz ur not supposed to have a teary eye retirement speech in front of the media and come back and say woops sorry i changed my mind and want to come back. and thats how i look at it

  8. No, you're not the only one. And this comes from someone who supported Favre on the field for 16 years. I loved watching him play. But he has turned into just another selfish prima donna like Terrell Owens, who puts himself before the team.

Anyone who booed Rodgers is an idiot. Would they have booed him if he was going to be the starter -- which, after all, was the plan until Brett threw a monkey wrench into the works? These idiots booing are pretty much saying, "Aaron Rodgers, you were supposed to be the starter for better or worse, but now that Brett's back, how dare you keep your job? You need to shut up, give up your job, and go back to the bench you've been riding for three years, while Brett gets another year of self-indulgent glory."

  9. i think ur right they arnt even giving rodgers a chance.

  10. Bear fans were also booing Rex Grossman for throwing an incomplete pass. It's bush league behavior. Rodgers is about the only person in this entire situation who has acted like an adult. He has done nothing wrong. To boo him is bush league.

  11. h**l no you're not the only one who thinks that. Truth be told I love Favre as a player because he's turned receivers you've never heard of into Pro-Bowl caliber players, but he has held this organization hostage the last two or three seasons.  No we don't know what Aaron Rodgers can do but how the h**l can we? He's never played. The Packers have made their decision to move on and they should stick with it. He has talented receivers and a running back that can get it done around him. The line is solid and the defense is very effective. Give him a chance and stop chewing on the jock strap of the Brett Favre legacy. The reality of it is that Favre playing this season only increases the chance of the winning the NFC NORTH. It only makes their Super Bowl chances slightly better. Give the kid Aaron Rodgers a break!

  12. When I heard that Favre was returning to Green Bay, I was shocked.

Aaron Rodgers just signed a $26 million dollar deal with Green Bay.  That contract is now dead.  So Favre, because he wants the limelight for one more year has cost a teammate $26 millon.

Twenty six million dollars.  Just because he wants to play one more season.

This is teamwork?  This is putting the organization first?

This is about one thing ... another year of glory for Brett Favre, and his attitude appears to be "s***w everyone else ... I'm Brett Favre".  He wants to keep that "Consecutive Games Started" streak alive at any cost.  ANY cost.

And the cost this year: 26 million dollars.

    It's sad.

  13. FAVRE is one big soap opera....idk packer fans are stupid...Rodgers deserves his shot...brett is actin like a high school kid instead of a grown man about it....

  14. I am SOOOOO with youy!  I had no idea the fans were hassling Rodgers, though.  That's a shame.  He's there practicing and thinking fo the season while Favre does his drama queen routine.  I'm so tired of him.
