Why are females attracted to older guys?

I always find myself staring at the guy who is about five (or more) years older than me, and ignoring the one closer to my age. Many of my girl friends are the same way. Why is this? Did we just adapt after all those centuries of being "traded" off to older men, or does this date back to the cavepeople days?

Speaking only for myself, I've always been drawn to people older than I am, not just men.  Most of my friends are older than me, not my age or younger.  I seem to have more in common in general with people who are older than me.  But when it comes to men, the ones older than me seem to know themselves more and know what they want.  And I can usually hold a better conversation with an older man than one my age.  And when it comes to intimate moments, they are more confident in their sexuality and know what they like and aren't ashamed of their sexuality like most men my own age or younger are.

Older men are intellectually stimulating and much more interesting; they are quite knowledgeable in philosophy, something that has always captured my interest.  Besides, they are some of them that perhaps may still believe in chivalry and gallantry, I am determined to find him, although I am not sure where or when.   =P

Not all of them are. My 18-year-old daughter says she constantly gets hit on by older men. She's not attracted to them so she blows them off. Still, she wishes she could get the attention of young men her age but they don't seem to be attracted to her because she's not "perfect" (she's slightly overweight).

i dont like older guys. i have always been attracted to guys my age or younger. my husband is 6 months younger. i would never ever get with an older man. i wouldnt have anything in common with him. i much prefer what younger men look like and i am attracted to younger men in the street. i have never been attracted to older guys

it could also be sorta like daddys lil girl thing coming in to play here. who doesnt feel safe in strong older arms when your in a weak moment to make you strong again? also a source of stability and a feeling of a safe environment? thats what i would think hahaha

There are 2 main reasons for this:

1-Many women seek a man who can already take care of himself and has a job and can protect them

2- Women age faster. They grow faster, so at the age of 17, men look younger than women.

And at the age of 40, the man is still very young and the woman is already in menopause(generally speaking)

So, its more  to match up the age than anythingelse.

It's because most men are done with the game thing and have nothing to prove, while younger men or little boys are to immature and are all about looking good.  Most older men are secure in their sexuality while younger ones are insecure about losing what they have, older men will feel bad, but life is to short to sit around feeling sorry for them selves.  Most older men are secure money wise while younger guys are still trying to make money.  Older men wiser, more secure and thoughtful, younger guys just wise a**es and thoughtless.

But we all had to come from the egg first and learn the rest as we go along.

Usually, but not always, an older man has more to offer. I'm talking about life experience. He usually has a career path and some stability, some wisdom and compassion, and is more settled in general.

Depending on his life experiences, he may be an intriguing character to talk to. He may have more sexual experience, and is comfortable with himself and around women. There is something to be said for the older gentleman who is aging gracefully, in my opinion.

Older men sometimes seems more mature and sophisticated.  They know what they want (it seems) and already have goals and careers.  Some women find that appealing.  Usually older men have a lot of confidence, know the right things to say, and generally seem suave and even a bit mysterious.  If you're the type of woman who likes to be taken care of, then older men also have the appeal of being stable, having money, and able to protect you.  It's pretty natural to like older men, especially if you're only talking about 5 years older.  Its when it gets to the 10 or 20 year mark that you need to start asking questions about WHY you like men so much older.

Plus, I have to admit, older men treat you like GOLD.  They're so happy to be with a younger woman that they go out of their way to make sure you know they appreciate you.  Its kinda nice.

Humm! Could it be that they are a bit more mature??? Older men are

a bit more settled in and are sure of their direction. This confidence found in older men is an attraction for women.
