Why are ferrets considered exotic??

i just found out that ferrets are considered exotic animals..but why??? i see them all the time in petstores

  1. they are not native in the area they are being sold in  


  2. I have no idea and it irritates me because did you know they are the third most popular pet in the US behind dogs then cats. There are an estimated 10 million ferrets in the US.  

  3. Not native to where they are being sold.

    But that also means that in most countries, hamsters, gerbils, types of fish, guinea pigs, degus, chinchillas, and other such small creatures are exotic, too.

  4. Animals not commenly found in the wild in the country they are brought into are considered exotic.  If they are native animals they are considerd wild.

    because they were found in Egypt and were pets of the Pharaohs and the royal peeps of that time, But they come from England as you will find out queen Elizabeth had a few they are assumed to of been around for over 2500 yrs get the book Ferret for dummies 1@2 and it will tell ya about them
