Why are fireworks illegal in New York

I know it is dangerous but howcome their legal in some places?

Stupid people set off fireworks in the city and then the police think they are teroists and they make a bit deal about it and everyone gets scared and angry and it reminds them of 9/11

They are dangerous and should be illegal everywhere, however, the fireworks lobby pays lots of money to politicians so they are not illegal everywhere.

Because of stupid people who will set off tons of fireworks in small yards with innocent people and children nearby.  They have no d**n clue as to what they are doing, nor do they take the necessary precautions to ensure safety of human life or property.  I know this because of the town I lived in in Florida that was filled to the brim from these same fools from New York.

Not exactly sure. But A LOT of people still shoot them off anyway. I live in New York and at least 3 of my neighbors shoot them off regularly. The police don't do much about it either. Even my family has done it a couple time. Just as long as you don't get caught smuggling them in from PA.
