Why do flowers have different colors instead they can be green like

the colors attract insects, or other animals like birds, that aid in pollination. the colors attract insects or birds as a signal that they have yummy nectar.  pollen gets attached to the insect while feeding, which travels to another flower where the pollen enters the ovum for fertilization.

the reason different flowers have different colors is typically due to co-evolution where species of insects co-evolve with a certain flower. different insects see different wavelength of light, or different colors. so a certain insect may see the colorations of one flower, but not another.

if you think flowers are colorful, realize that there are markings and colors we can not see. certain insects might have a different set of visible colors and can see colors we can not. our visible light spectrum is relatively low compared to other animals

if a flower were simply green, there would not be anything to differentiate them from other plants that do not pollinate the same way. this ensures that they get as much attention from the insects for better reproduction.
