Why are fuel prices are high?

Why are fuel prices are high, i brought a new Suzuki Swift that suposingly does 6.8 litres per 100km, but when i drive it, it does 9 litres per 100km, (i think its because im morbetly obese). but i cant afford to drive, so i had to give up driving over paying for maccas! great! now i have to walk to maccas, is this good? i heard walking is good for losing weight!

The short answer is supply and demand.

There has been an increase in the amount of crude oil demanded by the increase of industrialization of China and India. This causes a shortage of the "cheaper" fuel. I think this is causing the recent rise in prices, increased demand.

If you are driving the car in start stop traffic then you should expect to get worse fuel economy than the overall cycle figure (which is for a mix of highway and city driving), you may also be driving a bit too aggressively as well if it's that far away from the official figure (which pretty much no one actually manages to get).

As for fuel prices, it's just supply and demand.

yeah  walking is the best thing for you to do  but in another way you could die by a drive by   but if gas goes up then move to vermont gas would go down if all those people didn't pay on cards

fuel is high cause there are people who's job is to predict how much fuel there is and how much is left to get out the earth there is alot of fuel but they think its gonna run out so that y they charge so much an actually American don't pay anything for gas really compared to the rest of the world we complain but we just have had it easy an really we still do

Supply and demand. China and India have industrailized and increased demand. Lib government greenies(dems) reduce supply by preventing new refineries from being built, prevent research and developement of new finds via endless litigation.

They prevent offshore drilling and hamper coal to oil-the most viable answer for the near future claiming "global warming" will increase. AGW is the trojan horse for global socialism and is being used to dominate and control every aspect of our lives from birth to death.
