Why are fuel prices so high in Britain? Is it fair? Why don't the people react?

Bp and Shell report massive profits, yet in the last year the price per litre of both diesel and petrol has risen 25pence at least.

Why don't we strike back and show are objection?

Surely these hikes are not right?

everyone needs petrol for the cars, as long as ther is a need ther will always be people paying, interesting parrallel with drug addiction too lol

We are definitely being robbed when it comes to our fuel prices, but what can we honestly do? We need fuel and thats why they think they can charge any prices they like.

Lot of that profit gets ploughed in to half the country's pension funds - so chill baby.

If these companies don't earn the wonga... then don't be whining about having a p-poor pension.

However.. it's a pain the price of petrol, but then I have only got a 1.4 economical Volkswagen... not some useless petrol drinking machine.

Apart from the oil producing countries "rationing" production one other reason, apart from taxes, is that we, the consumer outside the USA, effectively subsidise the American market by paying more so they can have cheap gas.

In other words the oil companies, in collusion with the US Government, are effectively indulging in price fixing on an international scale.

It is EASY  Do not buy SHELL, OR  BP

If everyone had the guts to do that, they would soon bring the prices down,  but don't forget the Government Lap it up, 'cos they get more money too
