Why are gangsters so misogynist towards women?

They treat them like tools, have them one night and then go for another. Do you guys have any reasoning for this?

Gangsters are basically thugs, and many of them are psycopaths/sociopaths.

Almost all of them are very scary because they care more about presenting a 'tough' image than about whether they hurt people, or even themselves.

Gangsters sometimes like to present a veneer of charm and success, but their inner nature of being violent criminals cannot help but escape.

Many of the women who associate with them come from backgrounds where they have been abused, so the violence of the gangster is something they are used to.

Additionally, as in many domestic violence situations, the women are not aware of how violent the man is until it is at a point where she is afraid that if she leaves him he will harm her, her children, her family ~ even her pet animals.

Gangsters are not simply misogynistic. Most of them don't like ANYONE much, especially themselves, and will take that out on anyone who gets to close to them.

And who is closer than their own family? A sad and terrible dynamic.

Gangsters don't generally care much for anyone else, male or female.  I don't know if I'd call them misogynist exactly just because they go from one woman to another.  They don't really like anybody.

To a large degree it's part of the "gangster" culture to degrade women and thus enhance their 'street credibility' vis a vis proving themselves to their peers.  It's largely juvenile and doesn't represent the perspective of normative male behaviour.

For future reference, you don't need to say misogynist towards women. Women is implied when you say misogynist. Misogyny means a hatred of women.

As to your question, i am not so sure they are misogynists. I would say they are selfish. Gangsters usually only care about themselves and their crew. They see women more as a tool for self gratification. I wouldn't really call that misogynist though. They just want to get their rocks off, and they don't care who they step on to get it.

Because gangsters tend to be sociopaths, and possibly narcissists too.  Both mental disorders are diagnosed more frequently in males than in females.  The prison population is full of sociopaths.

Look up women as a source of "narcissistic supply".
