Why are gas fitter and plumber paid so much they can make 500k in a year if theyre self employed?

self employed gaz fitter and plumber can charge up to 250 per hour.if a gas fitter work 60 hour per week,he could make 750000 in a year.thats amazing ... gas fitting is the best job

Cuz they live in a democracy and can set their own price.  Now you are perfectly free to go to someone else and pay less

sorry, but I don't know too many plumbers that are living in any thing except trailers. You show me ONE single person living anywhere who is a plumber making a million dollars a year!! Come on, use your head.

Simple liaibility and study are the primary issues, both being major legalities/complaints if dealt with incorectly. Time factor issues, deadline pressure, emerency calls and upkeep as well as aprentices, journeyman  & general laborer expertice cause need for a skilled manager and one or more on site full time forman and or supervisior in most cases both are needed  to avoid the afore mentioned well informed likley reasons for the 500 k anual income POSSIBILE per. business outfit>...

What about the hours they're not working....generally all construction work slows down in the winter and in the current housing market I imagine those are not truely the numbers...I work for Ferguson Enterprises.. the biggest plumbing company in the us... I know its slowing because I buy the materials they use!!
