  1. We just comsume too much of it and our whole economy revolves around oil.  The days of Americans having the luxury of cheap fuel may very well be over.  SUVs instead of economy cars, semis instead of trains, motorcyles instead of bikes....all that excess consumtion is catching up with us now. And how much fuel gets burned up on nonsense???  Jet skis, boats, planes for recreation......is all that necessary??  Americans are in for a big surprise I do believe

  2. basically it is because the demand is high and the supply is low. When that happens, prices go up.

We have control over the demand but, the middle east (opec) has control over the supply. If they wanted to cut the supply enough. They could push up the price of gas to $10 or $12 a gallon or more. Which would shut down the U. S.  We depend on their oil.

We have to find a way to do without their oil!

  3. I'm guessing that your in the US.

Before you start complaining the price of a US gallon of gas is around $8.75 in the UK and getting higher every week!

  4. What kind of gases?

  5. !st of all Budget Deficit.

    2nd Dollar value is declining

3rd America Consumes a lot of GAS (Thanks to SUV and Trucks) - Hence people are still stupid buying big cars, instead of compact cars. I mean really do you need that SUV?  I can understand if you work at a construction site, but do you need to get into your SUV/Truck to go to work?

Have fun Paying Double Gas Prices :-)   I am happy with my compact car!

  6. So Bush can have a nice retirement, and the rest of eggheads.

    To Shamblin.....

We don't have commute system like they do. They can get anywhere on the bus or train, and we?......I live in the country, and the ONLY transportation I have is my car, or my neighbor's horse :)
