It seems like they never start on the first pull like lawnmowers and you have to pull and pull on the rope to get them started.

  1. First make sure the gas and or gas/oil mixture is correct, Some weedwackers are gas only. Check the air filter to make sure its not plugged, clean it and spray a little wd-40 on it. pump the primer until you feel Resistance in it. choke it--pull cord

  2. My experience leads me to believe it could be brand related. For example, I have a couple of Stihl chainsaws and a Stihl blower, they almost always start with one or two pulls.

My parents have other brands of chainsaws and blowers. Recently, I replaced the spark plugs and made a new batch of oil / gas for my parents machines. They still were hard to start!

    My suggestion...Buy Stihl equipment

  3. BAD GAS OR CHANGE SPARK PLUG CHECK FUEL LINE

  4. Think of the mechanics of it.

  5. i thought this was a sexuall reference, please rephrase and ill answer

  6. im not for certain on this one but i think its because you have to get the gas into its system. it can't run on just the fumes.

  7. I've found that you have to push the primer bulb on these a lot more. Like instead of 3 go for 9 or 10.

  8. Often it is because the user hasn't gotten the gas/mix ratio correct.  If the mixture is too rich...you'll have more trouble starting the machine...and you'll have a lot of "blue" smoke come from the exhaust.  Also...pay attention to priming it correctly.

  9. i honestly believe its the brand-so many people making them they don't have quality any more-i went to weed killer spray-tired of same problem getting them to work

  10. If one isnt used very often it also is hard to start..A landscaper or yard mainenance person uses them daily just about and they seem to start better..I have found though if they set up for a length of time they then become hard to start...I have given up on them and went to electric for this same reason...Electric are really no good for someone that uses them as a profession for they cut alot lighter and slower, but for the home owner or renter that uses them maybe twice monthly I recomend the electric ones.. but as far as commercial use..I wouldn't recomend them at all..
