Why are girls in America so sluttish these days?

So far I haven't met a single 18 year old or older girl who is a virgin. And the ones that are above average looking claims to have slept with at least 3-4 different men. So what's going on exactly? What happened to the good old America where people had some self respect? BTW, I'm an 18 year old guy who decided to preserve his virginity for a really special girl but the girls in my age range are simply s***s. What should I do? Should I date a really young girl? Like 12-13?

I think its the media and the lack of discouragement of this kind of behavior.  I'm 25 and I even find it hard to buy clothes because the "s**t" style is almost all I can find in my size anymore.  Just because I've "got it" doesn't mean that I'm required by law to flaunt it.  I don't want to flaunt anything I've got.  It seems to be the popular thing to do, to start s******g and wearing S****y clothes and makeup earlier and earlier.  My mother teaches at an elementary school and there are even some elementary school girls who are acting this way!  If you wonder where they're getting their ideas, look at their parents.  Some of the parents are younger than I am and must own stock in Maybelline or some makeup company, as much as they cake on everyday.  What's really sad is that nobody seems to discourage this behavior in any age of girls, because the guys would rather lust after them, which encourages their behavior so they can get more guys.  Its a vicious cycle.

I'm glad I was one of the few girls out there that didn't pay much attention to the media.  I didn't show off everything that I had during my school years.  I had respect for myself and for my virginity.  It was my own decision to keep my virginity until my wedding night so I could give my husband something that only he could take.  I was 24 years old (not 17, but yes, I was a virgin and in my 20s) when I gave my virginity to my husband and he gave me his virginity on our wedding night.  That made our wedding night that much more special in that we gave each other the ultimate wedding gift.  It was something that we could only give once.

I'm not saying that the temptation wasn't there.  I had several chances to lose my virginity, but I refused them.  Hormones were begging me to say yes, but my brain and logic said no because I had made up my mind to wait until I was married.  The guys weren't very happy with me, but that's their problem.  If they only want me for s*x, they're not worth my time.  

Trust me, it CAN be done.  There's this little thing called "self-control" that nobody seems to know about anymore.  Self-control is run over by our society of instant gratification, me-first, lack of definite right and wrong because of political correctness, and "if it feels good, do it."  We don't want to have to wait on anything anymore because we've become too selfish.

If you are looking for a girl with the same values as you, you might try a church.  This may not be what you want to hear, and not all girls in church are chaste.  It is only an idea.  Good luck in your search!

Okay buddy; you're no better than those "sluttish" girls by talking about the possibility of having to date a 12-13 year old; that my friend is called pedophilia, and it's quite frowned upon -- even more than not being a virgin.

And yes, there are people who have not have s*x believe it or not! You probably are looking at the wrong people; just like you might not know of much guys who are virgins at 18 (I'm sure *I* don't!) doesn't mean there isn't any.

Having s*x these days is much more common than in the "good old days", and people aren't as restrictive and do not look at it as a taboo. These days of course, I'm taking about the 50's or something.

If you look back a couple of centuries and do some research, you'll find that people in those "good old days" were in fact very sexually active, and talk about things freely that right now would make most people blush!

Anyway, my point is do not judge and assume that a girl is a w***e because she had s*x; and don't go asking people around if they are virgins or not, not only it's intrusive... it's also kind of freaky. 8B

EDIT: I am NOT saying that I approve of 15-year-olds having s*x, but I'm just saying that you should not feel appalled when you find an 18-year-old adult telling you they've had s*x in the past.

In America, the  average age at which a girl loses her virginity is 17.  AVERAGE!  That means there are plenty of 18 year old virgins out there.  You're just hanging out with what, for you, is the wrong crowd.  

I don't agree that non-virgin 18 year old girls are necessarily "s***s", BTW.  But if you believe that to be the case, you gotta hang out with different people than you have been.

Try hanging out with smart Biology majors - no joke:

Not all young women in America are sluttish or non virgins.

You should not generalize like that. Probably you are looking in the wrong places for a virgin.

And what do you have to offer besides your virginity? Do you make an effort to carry on a good conversation, dance, have fun in nice places?

How many girls are you basing your reasoning on? Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Good for you and your decision...Give it time...when it's right you'll know, And know don't go dating the youngsters that'll only get you in trouble...and from what I've seen some of those girls are way over the top as far as their knowledge today...it's rather embarrasing ... Just go to your local bowling alley, you'll be suprised at what you see... I saw kids puting makeup on in the bathroom so they could try to get in the lounge and pass for 21...they must have been around 13...I was floored...Good Luck and don't give up faith, She's out there somewhere...

I don't know, but a lot of it has to dow ith the women most girls look up to nowadays.  When you've got trash like that socialite with the wonky eye and the morals of a back alley w***e (Paris Hilton, is it?) being worshipped by the media, young girls pick up on it.

Did you seriously just ask if you should date a girl who's 12-13???? Please, NO! If you did that, you'd be just as bad as the unvirgin 18 year old "s***s"!

I definitely agree with you that people are becoming a LOT more liberal these days concerning modesty and virginity...but there's not a whole lot that can be done to discourage it.

I wish I had the answer to this question, as I am in the same dillemma..

I'll take a stab in the dark and say too many stupid *** peer and media influences on the female gender (especially)..Breast implants, famous s***s, tons of makeup, the list goes on and on.. A lot of things encourage and corrupt girls these days.

My senior prom my friends girlfriend slept with another guy..It was wierd because I actually thought she was different. But no shes stil your typical american s**t.

Its hard as h**l to find a decent girl thats not a skeez, thats a fact.

i think this doesnt happen only in America.i mean im living in Greece and i hear about 13 year old performing orgies.well morals dont just stick to when you will lose your virginity,if you are 18 and you are attracted to someone 5-6 years younger,thats pretty immoral as well
