I am 17. I consider myself to be an attractive and nice person with a good personality ( maybe a little shy). I've just never had a guy really approach me and want to get to know me. Maybe a couple times but it didn't really work out because he did it in front of my mom so I didn't want to exchange numbers when my mom was there. People have told me its because my attractiveness is intimidating and because I don't dress like the "hoe" type. I'm starting to feel bad about it and it really messes with my self-confidence. Why are guys afraid of pretty girls?

because men are truly and honestly cowards.  Nothing scares a man more than rejection.  Also, men don&#039;t have much self confidence.  This leads to the intimidation that men have when trying to approach a pretty girl.  Pretty girls usually know they are pretty and unfortunately are frequently *********.e.s about it and this makes a man cringe.  Some are just supremely confident and it makes a man feel uneasy when someone is more confident than them.  Society has brought up the idea that a man is supposed to be strong, confident, and in charge.  This is a false ideal.

So there you go.  Send me an IM.  I&#039;d love to talk about the philosophy about the gender roles in society.  You seem like the smart type.

if a guy is intimidated by your appearance that reflects an insecurity within his own person... it is to no fault of your own.

continue to be self confident.

sometimes it may take you to say hi first seeing as how the guy may be shy as well. smiling at people just because also make you more personable.

next time you see a guy you like, thats looking but not saying anything... just smile and try to get near enough to give him a chance to say something to you.

From a distance, guys can admire a girl without getting rejected.  Once you approach a girl, rejection becomes a real possiblity.  The more attractive the girl, the greater the chance of rejection, IN OUR MINDS, because most guys are actually insecure about themselves.  We don&#039;t think there is ever a chance that &quot;That girl&quot; would give us the time of day.

you should try to talk to that guy...smile and say hello..he will then feel less intimidated and might even approach you.

Alot of guys probably admire you, maybe open up abit, talk with guys as if they were your friends and SMILE :)

Because 99.9 % of girl are ugly ,so why go after the .01% of girls that are pretty . It`s all

about .01% rejection or 99.9% lets get it on .
