Question:

Why are hide&perch boxes not suitable for all cats?

They are special boxes designed for shelter cats. They allow the cat to hide from the public or interact at will. There is a perch space on the top and a couple entrances. The cat will go home with his/her own hide&perch box upon adoption. This helps relieve post-adoption stress. I would like to know why these boxes may not be suitable for all cats such as feral or semi-feral cats.

  1. If you want a feral or semi-feral cat to become more socialized, I would think you would not want the cat to be able to hide.
