This is a serious question here. Why not just make it noon? It would seem that people typically check in around 4:00PM anyways.

  1. They are not all at 11am. Some are earlier and some are later. Most have to get the rooms cleaned for the next client, so the earlier you depart the room the better.

In high tourist areas people are coming and going all through the day and night. Many hotels will try and accommodate visitors, but believe me, it's not easy if you are the cleaning staff.

  2. They must have time for the housekeeping to clean the rooms before the next round of guests check in. Many places will give you a late check out of noon if you ask.

    Blessings!

  3. Not all hotels have a c/o at 11:00am, my experience has been noon.  What's happens, more often than not, is that people want to check in before check in time.  And, this is a hard request for a hotel to accomplish when its overnight guests have not left the hotel.  I once stayed at a hotel where by 2pm they had a lobby full of guests waiting to check in with no where to go.  Turns out that because of the tourist bus schedules the hotels were put into a position where the bus was not available until 10am to take guests out and about brought guests from the two airports in the area beginning at 1:30pm.  So you never know.  I would be considerate.  If you need to leave late, just ask.  If you don't, do give the desk a courtesy call to let them know that you are leaving.  And PLEASE take the do not disturb sign off the door before you leave.

  4. wow, thats so true ahhah.

maybe they just want to make sure they have enough time to clean the room..
