Why would we all die in 5 billion years? The Earth may be swallowed by the Sun in 5 billion years, but I'm sure we'll find a way to colonize other planets long before that happens.

The only real danger is destroying ourselves before we achieve interstellar travel.

As for the meaning of life, it is whatever you choose it to be.
