Why are ice skating outfits ugly?

Question

Like the ones we see in professional competitions? Some look like shredded fabric, mardi gras masks and Vegas showgirl style costumes.

i have to agree with you som of them are pretty ugly but some of them a truly gorjus like the simple ones like this one! http://www.skatesnskirts.com/gfx/dress.j...  (it would have looked better in pink tho!

they are really pretty to the skater and the judges and a lot of the audience.

i personally like a lot of them, although some are rly ugly--i have to admit.

but thats y people like them--cuz they are pretty and they match the music

to the skater it isn't ugly to the viewer maybe so.

   Check that next time. go and see outfits yourslef and see if they are ugly in person. usually on camera they don't look so great but in person maybe the outfit looks great to the skater

I personally LOVE skating dresses!

But in the competitions you see on t.v they sometimes have to go overboard to make the dress match the program!

You don't want a black costume for a really upbeat program...

lol a lot of them are dramatic, but not ugly, because they have to go with the music.
