  1. listen, the forwards honestly do all the donkey work, and the backs prance around, and hopefully knock the ball on the give us (le forwards) the pleasure of another scrum. which, by the way, is an excuse for forwards to batter each other, and an excuse to give the backs a rest from having a rest. Wilki and Henson are both flys, leader of the backs (a dubious honour at best), and i dont say that lightly, my best friend's a fly and we take the mick just for that. wilki really only is famous because he won 'that match' in 2003 against the ozzies. and in general, the fly is considered to be 'pretty'

or as the pack likes to describe him, reeeeaaaal purdy.

im skipper of my squad, the national colts team of bahrain, and im a versatile forward, ie i play 1, 2, 3 or 8, and my co captain and good friend plays at fly. they actually aint all bad, im messing with you, they have some of the greatest pressure in the rugby world sitting on their shoulders. imagine a penalty in the last second of the world cup final, you make it you win, you dont, you lose. now that takes a cool head. and carter and o'gara are better fly's than wilki any day...well that's just my two cence.

  2. You stand alone, with the weight of the world on your shoulders.  the camera is focused on you for a solid minute and if you score the crowd go wild.

If you miss, well the opposite comes into effect

However even if the other 14 players score try after try, it's still the No 10 who stands out as the focal point to complete the scoring.

  3. Most kickers in rugby like wilkinson also play number 10 or fly half. This is an integral part of the team and this player is usually the play maker or flair player of the team. Also it isnt exactly easy to slot those long distance kicks in from long range and kickers tend to amass the most points. Also wilkinson and henson dont have mashed up faces unlike martin johnson so i guess that helps

  4. and why are the guys that score tries bigger heroes than the ones that get the ball for them???

Easy: they look nicer running with the ball, but they have less fun ;)

  5. I'd guess they get higher profiles as they're the ones building up their points with what is arguably the easiest way to score (no offence to any other methods!).  You get equally good players in the middle of the pack that, because of their positions, don't get to score as much.  It's the kickers that become best known to lay observers too.

  6. "Forwards win matches, backs decide by how much."

They are an important part of the team, but I wouldn't call them heroes. It's a team sport, and everyone needs to play well. When we won the world cup in 2003, that was because of a crack team of forwards that ground the other teams down. Now Johny kicked well, but without them he'd have got nowhere.

The blokes who score the tries as well, without them there'd be no opurtunity to kick conversions. Often fly halves (as kickers mot often are) score tries themselves, but the wingers and centres are just as important.

So in reply to your question, I'd say equal.

  7. Not to brag or anything, but I'm also a flyhalf(10) and if u r a flyhalf u r the only player on the field to make the fastest decision, that is why these players r so good, they make the right decisions every  time.

  8. Because the law states that you have 1min from the time the try is awarded to the time it is kicked, which means that they have a minute of camera time just on them.

Work it out, if your team scores 10 times, thats 1/8 of the game just on your face.

  9. Henson is a second-five I think? Jonah Lomu is a wing as is Doug Howlett and Joe Rokokoko. George Gregan is a halfback as is Byron Kellerher (Leylai Kai/US p**n Stars B/friend). Lote Tiquiri is a winger again and well Wilkinson is a 'fly by night' more than a 'fly-half' as for henson if he can get out of the shadow of his Welsh pop-star g/friend he might shine also... of course he didnt shine last year downunder with the Lions

  10. Because they are the playmakers and from kicking they become the top scorers

  11. thats my thought exactly... cuz in high school one year... i was playing fullback (and i'm pretty small.. actually REALLY SMALL but quicker compared to the other players) ... and i played 9 games and won the championship too... scored 31 tries yet i wasnt looked at as the crucial part of the team... but who cares... anything for a win... ppl just like them better
