Question:

Why are kids so annoying?

My sisters' 5 year old son thinks it is funny to put his mucus on people when he is sick. He is well aware that germs spread illness, but rather then using this knowledge in a nice way... he seems to have a mentality that if he is sick, then everyone else has to be sick. Yeah, he is only 5 years old (which is what I expect to her from people), but I cannot help but dislike him. He will put his running nose "stuff" on food, in the lemonaid jar, and on people. And he is very careful to do this when he thinks no one is looking at him. He knows this is wrong, but does it still.

I must admit, that as a consequence, when I babysit him I have been tempted to spit in his food... however, I could never go this far.

His mother repremands him for such behaviour, and he pretends to be all sorry... yet he continues to do this kind of stuff.

Perhaps there is an argument for hitting children.

When I was a child, I would know I'd get the beats if I acted like that.

  1. If that was my son he would have lost some  teeth just leave him alone he's not your issue he's hers in 10 yrs you can sit back and say

I TOLD YOU SO AND  LAUGH YOUR A-S-S- OFF

  2. just like the kids here where i live, the parents dont correct their kids. if i did something like that, i wouldnt have any teeth left. another thing, the parents hands are tied, children and youth wont let you touch them and the kids knows they can get by with stuff.

  3. THEY ARE ANNOYING CAUSE THEIR PARENTS WON'T WHOOP THAT BUTT

  4. He does these things BECAUSE HE IS A FIVE YEAR OLD BOY and clearly your sister is entirely permissive.

When you're with him, let him know in no uncertain terms that you are onto him and, even though he may be able to snow his mommy, you are not so easily fooled.  It worked with my nieces and we get along great.

  5. his mother unfortunaltely started this behavior with him its all her fault now she has to undue this... by doing exactly the opposite ... having a clean house, washing hands when sick, anti-bacterial lotion close by, kleenex, wastebaskets with garbage bags inside, lysol.  she needs to make sure that she keeps her eyes on him when no one is looking to see what he does with his nasty mucous.  this is just too gross.

  6. Maybe he just trying to get attention or he's just testing you. Hate to say it, but that's what kids do. I think I would try to stay away while he is ill.

  7. HE IS FIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He thinks it's funny because to him it truely is!!!

tbh love you sound like a bit of a jealous brat yourself... how can you speak like this oabout your nephew?? To him you will be his Heroine - the poor little man.

He is a kid, a child, a baby and is in need of guidance and acceptance not judgement and bitching... if the only attention he gets is when he is being naughty he will keep doing it so the payback for him is the attention he receives when he does this. He is not vindictive HE IS FIVE What is the payback he gets for being like this??? Kid are only truely naughty when their only attention is given through half a*sed attempts at discipline - I bet if you spend half hour every few hours sat on the floor playing with him when you sit his bogies will stay in his nose!

One day you'll have a kid of your own and won't beleive that you thought this way over a child..... Good grief - about time you GREW UP and got some EMPATHY rather than being a ***** to your nephew - you are supposed to be the adult and he is of an age where he only knows mischeif and fun.....

  8. Your sister can solve the problem by looking in a mirror and asking herself, "What is it I'm doing to encourage this behaviour and what must I learn/do to overcome it?"

  9. he is a child and is going through a learning process...i really cant believe someone would even ask this..seriously!

i can assure you, you were probably just of much of a 'brat' when you were 5. you actually still sound like one.

  10. The natural consequence for this behavior would be your refusal to babysit him until he stops doing this.  You don't need to label the behavior as "bad" or "disgusting."  Merely tell your sister that you cannot risk becoming ill.

When you do sit, do it on condition that if the behavior starts, she will have to come pick him up.

  11. He is testing his limits and seeing if his misbehavior will ALWAYS be countered with discipline.  Like testing when he drops a piece of food on the floor over and over, he is testing the limits of his family.

It is also more difficult because he is a boy.  Girls tend to be a little easier because they sit and play dolls while boys run around like cowboys and Indians.

  12. To answer your actual question. Why are kids so annoying? Well mostly because they have uniformed and ill equipped parents.  Tell your sister to get some guts and take it to the next level with this kid.  No boundaries or consequences equals very annoying kids!
