Why are larger trunk logs the most valuable to the logging industry...i need help for goegraphy & i dont get hw to answer tht question or this one >>>>>>>>>>>>>> How might this affect the decisions abt where a logging company would choose to cut trees! plzz HELP!

  1. The best logs are used to make veneer.  The veneer making process requires good round clean straight logs without any limbs or knots or holes.  Usually in hardwood trees like oak and hickory that is the lower 8 to 16 foot of the tree trunk.  

    The more high grade veneer logs in a track of timber the more money a logging company could make.


  2. you can get more wood out of larger trunks therfore they make more money.

  3. More usable "board feet" per log, wider, stronger and longer plankage for a variety of construction purposes.
