Why are liars that lie so much called "big fat liars"?

  2. I think it refers to the size of the lie, not the size of the liar.  A "big fat liar" is the superlative of "the little white lie"

  3. Well, the term was derided from the 1800's when there was this guy who who lied absolutely all the time and I think he some kind of birth defect because every time he lied, he got fatter and fatter and it just kept going throughout generations.
