Why are liberals so happy that Mrs. Palin will be a grandmother?

I am surprised they are so happy. I would think they'd encourage her to have an abortion.

I'm not happy about it.  Actually I feel very sad about it.  Palin should be taking care of her family instead of running for VP; taking care of her 4 months old child with Down Syndrome, and her 17 years old pregnant/not married daughter.  I'm a woman, and I can't identify with Palin, I have always put my family first!!!  Does she know how to set priorities?  Is her family first or her politics ambitions?

Look at Hillary (truly a great mother & politician) she ran for President, when her daughter was 28 years old.  She put her daughter first.  And Hillary has a Juris Doctor, lawyer degree!!!  I admire Hillary, and all the woman that have sacrifice her career to take care of their families.  Those are truly heroes for me!!!

Who says they are happy?  And who says that liberals are pro abortion?  That's what your question implies.  Pro choice is not the same as pro abortion.  That's the view of the majority of the country, democrat, republican and independent, who are pro choice.

Being pro choice does not mean pro abortion.  I believe women should have the choice, but that does not mean I think everyone should be getting abortions, and I certainly would never get one myself.

We need Sarah Palin to STEP DOWN and STAND ASIDE before the convention restarts. She needs to do the RIGHT thing and sacrifice her desire for celebrity for the good of the GOP. She needs to retire from the race and DEMONSTRATE family values by saying, "I need to spend more time with my FAMILY during these difficult personal times, therefore I must withdraw from the VP race."

I'm a liberal, why would I want her to have an abortion? I disagree with abortions, but I agree that a woman has HER rights to do whatever she wants with her body. You know, if men were able to get pregnant, they'd have no problem with abortions..

I honestly didn't even know about this til I read it here. I havent caught up with the soap opera. I did say I thought this women was going to be like Harriet Miers & not work out...I am a liberal & I happy when ever anyone is happy about having a baby. I am pro-choice so people don't die having abortions...For McCain to have run an ad of Obama as if he had anything in common with Brittney Spears this is just like bad karma & we all like divine justice. We are seeing that with Obama. He doesn't go after them except to straighten out the truth. When they prayed it would rain on his convention he let it go & look what happened to the republican convention. This is why war in not needed. If we do what is right in life it balances itself out.

You are an idiot! Liberals don't "encourage" abortions they protect the right. As for being "happy" about Bristol Palin's pregnancy, that is insane. This shows that Palin's family has common issues that many face. However, the fundamantalist Christian base is mostly likely in a panic as is the Republican party. These groups peach abstinence as does Sarah Palin, but she cannot get the message across to her own daughter. Maybe if she supported s*x education in school (along with teaching about pregnancy PREVENTION) her daughter would not be in this mess. Sarah Palin is a hypocrite and puts her career before her children.

No one encourages abortions at 5 months along.  They might be encouraged though when a teen is pregnant and just a few weeks along.  The teen needs know what being an adult is before taking on the responsibilities of being a mom.

Libs are happy, but not for the right reasons. They see it as an excuse to criticize her for not controlling her daughter.

I see it differently. The news said McCain knew about the daughter's pregnancy before nominating Palin. Since he knew it was coming, I'd liketo think of when Obama talked positively about abortion so his daughter's wouldn't be "burdened" by an unwanted birth.

But the Palin's see it as a blessing. True to her belief's & her mother's Bristol is having the child. In the end I think the liberals will not be so happy about this whole affair.
