  1. liberos are mostly small, or smaller, because they are passing experts. litterally. thats what they are in the game for. to pass. if they were tall, then they'd be hitters, or setters, instead of libero, who jsut come in for passing and digging.

  2. A short libero is closer to the ground. So it makes it easier for them to dig the ball.  Also they're short, so they can't really play front row. Which means if they want to play, they have to get good at the back row.

  3. They have to be super quick moving side to side and the lower the body is to the ground the easier it is to dig a spike.

Besides, they are not allowed in the front row so you don't have to tall...

  4. I shorter person will play better defense then lets say a 6'8 or 6'6 person. They can get lower to the ground, dig more balls and move faster then a taller person.

  5. Lou is exactly correct

  6. They are usually small so that it's easier for them to dig the ball when the other team spikes it. They don't have to be tall because they're not allowed to hit the ball if it's above the net. Hope I helped

  7. Being short means they can get lower faster to dig the balls. Besides, if you are tall, you would probably be the spiker.
