  1. It must be part of our precious bodily fluids.  


  2. Lubrication for efficiency

    Fat is stored energy

    And having lots of lipid cells makes it easier to stay warm (insulation)

  3. They keep water from entering or leaving the cell.

  4. without any lipids (fats) your body would not be able to heal and stop the bleeding.  

  5. Energy storage

    buoyancy

    insulation (but thats for animals not cells really)

    dunno...cant think of anything else!
