Why are male pedophile prosecuted with more prejudice than their female counterparts?

This double standard exists with every crime. People in general are more sympathetic to females and hold them less accountable. Funny that feminist are not fighting for equal rights in this area.

The risk of injury, the risk of pregnancy is much more pronounced with a male predator. Girls are different critters anyway.If i young boy gets some from his teacher you're gonna pat him on the back, fire his woman teacher and get on with it. If a young girl gets some you gotta worry about pregnancy. Short , harsh answer.

The double standard.

Society views men as the sexual perpetrator or at least a willing associate even when young.  Woman are seen as victims of s*x - especially if they are young.  Ironic thing is...men are the one who've promoted this view for eons.

It goes back to the Mary Kay Letourneau case. People romanticized it to the point where she "loved" him and that made it OK. Women's cases seem to be portrayed as emotionally involved whereas men's cases are shown to be all about the physical aspect of it. It's all bogus. Women get off easier because they portray themselves as either insane or neglected by their husbands, and men just get vilified. It's one of the many negative side-effects of the chickification of America.
