  1. Why not?

    I tend to think of them as squirrels, but with a horn sticking out of their forehead.

    You know, one of those squeeze bulb horns that people used to put on bicycles.


  2. that goes back to like the 40s when ppl made films about aliens. they made them look like that and everyone just picked up on that

  3. for the same reasons werewolves are hairy and vampires have fangs

  4. That is true! you always see them as green men!  I guess it got popular and no one else had any ideas as to what they would look like, so they just stuck with it!

    Quatermass and the Pit had them as insects. (Ok it's the "bug eyed monster" theme,and they're still green)

    I think someone chose to represent aliens that way, and aren't seen as "proper" aliens/martians if done differently.
