Why are men more violent than women?

Every time I turn on the news I always hear about a man robbing a bank, trying to kidnap his children, or killing his pregnant wife. Why do men have so much more aggression?

The media may tend to focus on the more grisly and sensationalist criminal acts, but statistics do reveal that a staggering 80% of violent/property crimes are committed by males.  

Male aggression is part and parcel of living in a patriarchal society.   From a North American cultural standpoint, men are encouraged early on to be aggressive and competitive, as these qualities are perceived to be beneficial later in life.  

Think of CEOs for instance.  98% of them are male, and they generally don't achieve financial and personal success by being passive or cooperative.  

Women are actually no less aggressive or competitive than men are, but because women are conditioned from an early age to engage in behaviors that reflect their prescribed gender role - docility, domesticity - they tend to commit fewer crimes.

It's important to remember that criminal behavior is something that is learned, and much of this can be attributed to a number of social factors such as poverty, poor socialization early on in life, and limited education.

It depends on the individual person. I know that once I get mad it's hard to calm me down. And I am a woman. For some reason when I get mad I want EVRYONE to leave me alone or I will get physical.

Could be your watching the bias in media and that your population is so large that you are hearing the minuscule bad populous.

Wake up to yourself and stop watching so called news.

As for your question on men being more violent. Ill leave that to others. But yes men are.
