Why are men obsessed with.?

why are men obsessed with having their first born child be a son?

my boyfriend wants are kid to be a girl! he always sayin that are baby is a girl and says he is 99% sure were having a girl so i guess not all men! my brothers also wanted to have a girl first not a boy

well I'm not sure about all men but some of men want son so they can be just like them or be better then what the could be

So they can have a little buddy. Teach him how to kick a ball, hunt fish, whatever.

It also on a more sub conscious level man hood. They produce a boy they think they'r more of a man. Doesnt make sense, but it is what it is.

Also, boys tend to be more low maintenance than girls.

So that we know that there will be somebody Else to take our name. Also there is always those father son relationships we dream of as soon as the possibility of a child came up. Also a daughter in her teen years is a calling for gray hair. they will always be worrying about boys and their evil penises of death coming near their daughters. So most me be live that boys will provide less hassle and a more rewarding child-father experience while the child is growing up.

P.S. I'm only 16 and know nothing about having a kid. i just know whats whats. And that's whats what

It goes back to anciet times when male children were perfered over female as heir of the name, lands, cattle ect...due to it was against the law for woman to own property; they themselves were considered property.

Women have been the object of scorn as babies since before christ.

In some cultures female children (infants) were put to death.

Look at Henery the Eight he married Anne Bowlyne in order to get a male heir. Instead he got Elizabeth the greatest female ruler England ever knew.

He divorced his first wife one of the reasons was because she only gave him female off spring.  The one male child she did give him died at a very young age due to weakness from childhood illness.  The other of course was to fool around with a much younger and prettier Anne.

when i was pregnant w/my daughter, my husband said he wanted a son bc he was terrified of having a girl... he was afraid that he would be afraid OF her (hope that makes sense).  His exact words were (joking, of course) as follows:

"The authorities tend to frown upon people who lock thier daughters in the basement after she turns 12."  lol

I think he was scared of how much of his 'macho self' would turn to jelly when it came to a little girl calling him Daddy.  

But I gotta tell you... he wouldn't trade that little girl for anything in the world.
