Cyrus is correct. I knew a kind married guy who didn't want to work on anything but video games, maybe some chores got thrown in over time to avoid fights about working, and was totally the opposite of all the things he said to his wife before getting married. That guy's wife had all kinds of guys wanting to protect her or advise her. These guys didn't have crushes on her or anything coz she was not really crush material for most, but it was interesting to note that so many guys are the way you asked about, but there are some who are not. It would seem that it is possibly a learned trait. If a boy is taught that men are to provide and look after the women in their lives, and also make sure they don't get involved in things that could ruin the family's interests (funds, life, etc.) , they will grow up strong and wanting to do that in their own lives. But if they don't. You get the video game guys who think it's alright to let the wives/girlfriends work or sign up for welfare while they just play in their own f**t air.

There are 2 main reasons. 1. Their up bringing was the example they live by. It was normal because they saw their parents in the exact same roles. Therefore, assimilating the relationship.

2. He is cheating on you and he needs to control your every move so not to get caught.
