Like TV personalities and radio host are dominated by men. And the ones that are dominated by women usually only appeal to women.

Talk shows as well Tyra Banks has mostly women audience just like Oprah (with an exception of male prison imates that only get 3 channels).

And when i'm listening to men & women talk I can't help but notice that most of the times (most as in at least over 50%) men are dominating the conversation and directing it.

Is it something where men just like to dominate it & we like attention? Or women would much rather hold their judgements?

I've heard women tend to talk about the same topic for a longer period as men like to talk about several topics all at once.

  1. Laura Ingraham is one of the most listened-to personalities on radio.

Tyra Banks structures her show around topics that only women would find interesting.   I don't know any guys who want to watch a show dedicated to makeovers.   You could say the same about Oprah, except her show's content isn't as lowbrow.   I'm not a fan of either, but fair is fair.

I think your experiences are vastly different from many, myself included.    My conversations with women tend to be in the 50/50 range, as far as who speaks when.

  2. Media programmers tend to target their audiences and work with what they feel will draw in their intended market.

When it comes to general conversation I don't really care who is talking as long as it is fitting with the circumstances/topic at hand. Men and women can be equally funny, verbose or ignorant or loud or sensible. Depends on the environment and selection of people I guess.

  3. I don't think one is better than the other at conversation....but when you put tyra banks and oprah in this question well, that makes it seem like your right! lol
