Why are messages sent via web by some members not posted in the group's message archive?

Some group members have "sent messages via web" as seen in the group activity log in the management section of the e-group. However, these messages were not posted at all as they do not appear in the group's message archive list nor were these messages received by the group's members as individual emails. The members who posted the messages are not "email only" members but are duly invited members of the group with fully featured message format settings. May I know what's causing this problem?

if a member posts off the group, but changes the drop down of the send to, and send it to a member, not the group, it'll still show up in those logs and this may be why it's not on the group.
