  1. There are some very nasty Middle Class PPL around, believe you me. At the same time, there are a lot of very nice working class folks. Don't generalise.

    But i agree with the first few posters, that they were bought up with manners and realise that they dont cost anything!

  5. They are not worried or ground down by poverty;-{

    & they are not pre-occupied or elevated by greed.

    They are secure in their position & trust other people too.

  6. They know how to behave, they have decent values, are better educated and have better family lives.

  7. I wouldn't go as far as generalising that they are all nice, but middle class people seem to value manners and courtesy, rather than the snotty arrogance of the upper classes and the blunt tactless behaviour of some working class folk.

  9. You'll find, doctor, that middle class people don't score any higher on affectation surveys than any other class of people. Agreeableness is a personality trait, not a socioeconomic trait.

  10. i find working class people are nicer, i'm working class myself and attending college, so far most middle class people i've met tend to be rather anti social like they don't want to know you, they mainly stick to there own class, i've noticed too, they seem to be more serious than the working class.

    Before i started my education in college, i hadn't really met any middle class people and i've noticed quite a difference between the working and middle class.

    They're not nicer, they just hide their faults behind money and their status.

They arent rich enough that theyve had to work and earn what they have and so they are humble.  Poor people sit around smoking weed they roll up in the envelopes their food stamps come in and demanding hard working people give them a handout.  Rich people think they are better than other people.

  15. Because they're not jealous of the upper classes, and don't look down on the lower classes, and are happy with their lot.....

  19. Because they are brought up to be very careful not to offend anybody higher or lower.

    The middle is a comfortable, safe place to be and no-one wants to rock the boat.

    Usually they are quite happy and satisfied there too.

  20. They are educated so know the best ways to avoid problems. People who haven't been educated often think they can achieve things by being mean, but educated people tend to use their intelligence instead.

  23. I haven't found them to be any nicer. I have found that they have a better self promotional front and hide their not- niceness better.It s hard to say who is middle class these days with so much mobility. I had working class parents and was sent to a middle class private school, where I was taught to despise my parents I have recently realized how much more real they were and valued that - Nice is one of those 'damning with faint praise' type of words

  25. Upbringing.  We are taught to be polite to our own class, obsequious to the upper class and patronising to the working class.

  29. most, not all. i guess because they always had a somewhat stable life and an adequate amount to be thankful for. not too much, not too little, just right. this also comes in appreciation of friendship, they treasure their friends.

  30. Because the /middle Class's provide others with some thing against which they can rant / rail / protest or sneer at.  It's like Parents with Teens. The teens, poor darlings, would be totally bored out of their tiny self important minds if they didn't have some poor body against which they could complain and / or rebel.  

    Parents and the Middle class are natures way of helping those of the 'lesser' classes to survive their Problem Years.
