Why are militant black people usually light skinned?

I've seen militant dark skinned blacks but it does seem the most militant blacks are light skinned. For example Cornell West or Malcolm X. But when you look at blacks that disagree with black nationalism they are usually dark skinned(Thomas Sowell, Clarance Thomas, etc). Do they think they should rule over dark skinned blacks or something?

  1. A question made from an assumption can only get an assumed answer

    Think about it

  2. because they have more to prove to darker blacks because they are lighter and somehow darker blacks feel we think we are better which is not true. I love all black people no matter how dark or light. But, I have so many problem with darker skinned women. it's ridiculous.

  3. I don't know how "usual" it is for light-skinned black people, but I attended some kind of militant convention/speech with a black man and I was astounded at the number of biracial young people who were present. They were everywhere I looked.

My personal opinion about the militant biracials? Many are looked down upon and rejected by their Caucasian in-laws, whereas their black in-laws embrace and love them. If they grow up conscious of that rejection, they sometimes come to the conclusion that Caucasians are evil and black people are good.

  4. I have never observed what you have observed.

Light skinned american blacks have some white ancestry (the genetic source of the lightness). If they hate whites they are hating a part of themselves.

  5. They have more pressure on them to prove thier blackness

  6. Sometimes I think it is very much a bitter feeling of rejection. The whites find it difficult to accept them because they consider them black. The blacks find it difficult to accept them because they regard them as white. They regard this as a personal injustice which it is but they see the whites as the bosses and therefore to bring the whites down a peg or to they stir the blacks up with this in mind.

I suspect the reasoning is entirely unconscious

  7. because you are racist

  8. There was this black guy serving in Iraq who was severely burned, and he used to be dark skinned.

  9. Its just a coincidence.

  10. I guess they have more to prove!

    Peace!

  11. I don't think this questioned can be answered. Maybe it's just a coincedence? IDK.

  12. The Black Panthers were mostly dark skinned and they were pretty militant.
