Question:

Why are morbidly obese people given disabled badges allowing them to park closer to the shops?

wouldn't it be more effective to give them a badge that made them park at least 400 yards away from most shops and a mile away from pie shops, this might not stop them from eating mars bars sideways but it would a least ensure they got some much needed exercise

  1. I don’t know where this is happening. Where I live this isn’t the case. My wife who is 600lbs and has no health issues other than her weight would certainly qualify for one if it was available. Instead she has to park quite far a way from everyone else because she needs to open the car door pretty wide to gain entrance or exit her vehicle. Parking close to the store wouldn’t be feasible in this case because everyone including the skinny so-called fit people park closest and crowed themselves in. Being that she parks by necessity further away than most people she then has to waddle her way to the door from a further distance than most. So I would love to get one of those parking badges for her as it would make her life so much easier.
