Question:

Why are more and more drivers thinking they can turn left in any lane?

When I learned to drive (20 years ago) we were taught when you turn left and there is more than one lane that you have to turn into the inner most lane (closest to center). Then drivers from the opposite direction who are turning right down the same road have to take the most right lane and therefore on a green, both streams of traffic should be able to turn down the same road at the same time. Why is it lately whenever I turn right and someone else is turning left that they think they have right of way and want my lane and get angry, honk, gesture, etc... ?

  1. i have no idea. but ive noticed that people dont how to drive now these days.

and its kinda funny. i cant tell if its the older ones or the younger ones. bc the tests now are harder to pass than 40 years ago, ya know? but the young ones are the ones that drive reckless (yes i am young, but ive seen what reckless driving can do to you) so i try my best to be careful. ALOT of people seem to impatient more than anything tho. ALOT of people run red lights and stop signs and pulling out in front of me! you have no idea how many accidents ive avoided bc of other peoples stupidity.

just be careful. try not to get road rage (im working on that). and drive safe!

  2. Well, maybe you are encountering people who think you were driving too slowly. They were in the process of passing you on the right side before reaching their left turn. (probably unsafe and inconsiderate, but that's how more people are driving these days.)  Be happy you managed to avoid an accident due to such recklessness.
