I guess a lot of NASCAR fans tend towards the conservative side, and Republicans are the conservative political party.

Look at the fans in the stands. Most Southern white males are Republican because the Democratic party now represents the fringe elements of society and now blames the white man for all the world's problems. I was a Democrat for a long time and left after the primaries this year because of their nominee and will be joining a majority of NASCAR fans and vote for a Republican for president. I know Jimmie Johnson, Mark Martin, and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. have all endorsed John McCain for president and more will follow I am sure.
